With fifteen years of experience, Usha brings to Sagrada Wellness tremendous knowledge and skill which is reflected in her multi-level Hatha yoga classes. Usha creates an atmosphere that is spiritually vibrant, friendly, and safe for retreaters to travel within. She encourages intention with each asana. Through focused breath one becomes mindful of how they enter, experience, and exit the postures. Retreaters leave with a deeper understanding of their yoga practice and its benefits. Days will be spent in Sagrada’s open-air yoga pavilion, enjoying delicious healthy meals with new friends and relaxation with spa treatments at Sagrada Wellness Majestic Mountain Retreat Center.
Usha Leason of British decent is a certified International Hatha yoga teacher. Having lived for several years on ashrams in North America and India , she has developed a profound understanding of yoga. Her desires to study the mind, body, and spirit connection lead her to the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she studied with Dr. Vasant Lad. Later, she went on to specialize in Ayurvedic massage and life style counseling. She currently works and resides in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Sagrada Wellness is an earth-conscious retreat center located in the majestic high desert of Guanajuato, Mexico. The ranch features an ancient well built by the Jesuits four centuries ago, as well as the original homestead, now restored. New eco-friendly architecture augment historic buildings already existing on the land without compromising the integrity of the history and spiritual character of the land. Retreat facilities completed in 2006 include five adobe cabanas, a large open air multipurpose pavilion, and a full-service modern kitchen designed for culinary retreats with an artisan Tuscan wood burning oven.
Sagrada Wellness was designed using local, sustainable materials such as sun-baked adobes, reclaimed wood and terra-cotta tiles from abandoned haciendas. The polished concrete floors and thick adobe walls create a comfortable living environment both during the cool winter nights and warm summer days, because of its incredible thermal mass.
The building locations were chosen with minimal impact on the fragile desert environment in mind. Landscaping consists of native drought resistant cacti and plants and dry stacked stone walls. A gray water system and solar panels are also integrated to minimize resource consumption. Harmonized with the surrounding ranch landscape, the design blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior living.

Sagrada Wellness retreat center is located on 15 majestic acres just 15 minutes from historic San Miguel de Allende. Our facility includes a large open air yoga pavilion with breathtaking views of the Rio Laja Valley, equipped with yoga mats, blocks, straps and blankets. Perched high on Sagrada’s mountain is a gourmet kitchen with a Tuscan wood burning oven great for pizza making and roasting. It is the ideal setting to lead cooking classes and can comfortably seat up to 14. We offer holistic health and spa services, a natural mesquite sauna and gourmet food. Sagrada can accommodate up to 11 people. Guests make themselves comfortable in one of our exclusive adobe cabanas with private patios, canvas bungalows, a restored ancient stone home and our adobe casa.
