Tour Overview
Escape the city and venture into the Australian Bush.
On Day One we head straight over the Blue Mountains stopping for morning tea at one of the picturesque lookouts. At Orange we visit one or more of the local wineries and have lunch before heading for the Farmstay. After the farmstay we head back to Sydney, stopping at Bathurst for morning tea, then Katoomba for a visit to Scenic World and lunch, and the last visit is to see the Aboriginal Rock Art in the Blue Mountains National Park near Glenbrook. The two day Farmstay and Blue Mountains Tour runs on demand. It is a shorter version of the Venture West Tour which allows travellers with less time to spare an opportunity to get out of the city on an eco tour adventure into the heart of the Australian bush. You’ll meet genuine Australian bush characters, experience authentic Australian country lifestyle, taste traditional Aussie bush tucker (food!) and try your hand at some truly Australian bush crafts. All Aussie Farmstay and Bush Adventures tours are small groups, with a maximum of 11 passengers, so you'll be assured of personalised attention. LocationThe following guides will lead the tourLaurie & Bill Norris Laurie and Bill Norris grew up on Inglevale, a small farm in the hills outside of Eugowra NSW. They are our farmstay hosts and provide a very enjoyable and hospitable stay.
Laurie and Bill are experts in many farming and bush skills and bush crafts such as sheep mustering and shearing, whip cracking, horsemanship, bush poetry, folk singing and camp fire cooking. Visitors to Inglevale will be struck by Laurie and Bill's welcoming nature, hospitality, humour and skill in Australian farming and bush skills. Their father Wilf, to this day, breeds and uses only draught horses to work his farm. If we are lucky we will have a visit from Wilf and demonstration of his skills in ploughing and other draught horse handling. Sally Bray Sally Bray is your chief driver/guide. Sally grew up on a farm near Eugowra in Central New South Wales. She has a long and extensive background knowledge of the areas into which tours venture.
Before turning her hand to tourist operations Sally was most recently a high school science teacher, and has previously worked in areas as diverse as hospitality, aged care, computer operations and museum guiding. She is well travelled herself, having lived and toured on most continents of the world and is very knowledgeable about the needs of travellers. Sally is passionate about sharing the Australian bush culture with others and leads tours which incorporate as many features of Australian bush life as possible. Reviews

A two day, personalised guided, city escape and adventure - One night camping under the stars on a sheep farm where the hospitality of your local hosts will thrill you - Walk in the World Heritage Blue Mountains National Park
ItineraryDay 1 Passengers are picked up from the convenient Sydney departure location close to Sydney’s transport hub of Central Station or selected nearby places of accommodation by prearrangement with the driver.
We drive out of Sydney and up into World Heritage Blue Mountains National Park where we will stop at one or more of the picturesque lookouts and have morning tea. A further drive through the mountains and down to the plains of inland NSW will take us through historic villages and the ciity of Bathurst. In the grand city of Orange we take advantage of the magnificent Cook Park with hundred year old trees, floral glass houses and native bird aviaries to have lunch. Just an hour away is the farm and homestead of Inglevale, the childhood home of Laurie and Bill Norris, our farmstay hosts. Spend the evening immersed in traditional farm culture. Laurie or Bill will demonstrate sheep herding, yarding and shearing, droving on horseback and the use of skilled sheep dogs. There may be displays of Draught horses used in ploughing or cart rides, trick ponies, show dogs, whip cracking and more Dinner will be cooked by BBQ and camp oven on the open camp fire, including damper, lamb chops, kangaroo meat and other traditional Australian bush tucker. After dinner you will be treated to Australian bush poetry or folk songs and story telling around the campfire, and if weather permits an exhibition of the glorious night sky stars with explanation of the Southern constellations and their Aboriginal legends. Sleep under the stars in an established camp site surrounding the farm homestead, with twin share tents equipped with comfortable camp beds. The camp has the use of a bathroom with hot showers, and a kitchen should bad weather interrupt the evening, so this is luxury camping.
Day 2 Enjoy a hearty country cooked breakfast prepared on an open camp fire, or take a morning stroll in the beautiful granite boulder hills surrounding the Inglevale Homestead.
Upon leaving the farm we head back through Orange and Bathurst, where we will stop in a local park for morning tea. Then we drive to Katoomba, heart of the World Heritage Blue Mountains National Park. Take the world’s steepest railway, the Scenic Railway, to the floor of the picturesque Jamison Valley, then explore the well documented and accessible history and natural beauty on the convenient boardwalks. The cliff tops at Katoomba afford unsurpassed views of the unique rock formations, such as the Three Sisters and lush flora of the Jamison Valley. We take full advantage of these before our final lunch stop in a local park. On the way back to Sydney we make a final stop in the Blue Mountains National Park to view Aboriginal Rock Art, near Glenbrook (3), painted by local Australian indigenous inhabitants centuries before the arrival of Europeans in Australia. From here it is only an hour or so back to Sydney for passenger drop offs at prearranged convenient locations.
