Tour Overview
Introduction - 3 cities + 2 by train
3 cities + 2 gives you so much more than 3 city breaks in 1! This is the best way to experience Sweden’s 3 largest cities, Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm plus the option of spending a day in Copenhagen whilst in Malmö and a day in the historic city of Uppsala during your time in Stockholm. This is a tour offering you a cultural, diverse and cosmopolitan experience you will not find outside Sweden. Days 1 to 3 Malmö & Copenhagen The construction of the Öresund Bridge has brought prosperity and diversity to Malmö and the Skåne region. As you cross the bridge towards Malmö you have an amazing view of Malmö and the Turning Torso, Sweden's tallest building. Many good shops, bars and restaurants line the pedestrianised areas and Simply Sweden recommends a visit to Lilla Torget and Saluhallen. The award winning area of the Western Harbour is also a must do, with sandy beaches and long promenad, restaurants and cosy cafes, complemented by a stunning view across the sea towards Copenhagen. You will be accommodated in one of Malmö's leading hotels, the 4 star Savoy Hotel, just a couple minutes walk from central station. Days 3 to 5 Gothenburg The train between Malmö and Gothenburg takes you along the stunning West Coast of Sweden and through picturesque towns and villages arriving in Gothenburg approximately 3 hours later. Your hotel will be one of our selected hotels in central Gothenburg, close to shops, museums, cafes and restaurants. All of Gothenburg's major attractions are within easy reach and you will have free transport on the famous trams and other local public transport as all guests will be provided with a 48 hour Gothenburg Pass. Simply Sweden recommends a city cruise on the Paddan tours and there a whole range of museums, attractions and activities to keep all ages and interests occupied. Days 5 to 8 Stockholm Take the high speed X2000 train from Gothenburg to Stockholm. In just over 3 hours you’ll witness the variety in the Swedish countryside as you pass tranquil lakes, forests, villages and towns. Amazing at any time of year. With activities to suit all tastes you’ll never struggle to find something to keep you occupied. Whether it’s a walk through Gamla Stan, a boat trip through the ever impressive archipelago or a visit to the world famous Vasa Museum, Stockholm has it all. Once again the Stockholm Card is included in this holiday, offering free public transport on trains, busses and underground network. It also includes entrance to over 75 museums and attractions plus unlimited travel on the Stockholm harbour passenger ferry. You will be accommodated in the hotel of your choice from our selection of hotels in Stockholm, all of which are within easy reach of many of Stockholm's star attractions. LocationGuiding and support

Guest reviewsBrigida - April 2008 Thank you on behalf of my friend and myself for organising our one week break in Sweden. Everything was very easy and well organised and the choice of hotels (especially the Columbus hotel in Stockholm) was great. Thank you very much indeed.
Tour Highlights
3 cosmopolitan cities (+ Copenhagen & Uppsala) giving an educational and entertaining tour of Sweden. From Malmö we recommend a visit to the Western Quarter and a short train journey to Copenhagen. Whilst in Gothenburg take time to visit the archipelago and friendly cafés. Contrast the Stockholm archipelago to that on the West Coast and explore the picturesque cobbled streets of the Old Town.

Nature & Kind Factor
As a guest in Sweden we encourage you to use public transport to keep carbon emmissions to a minimum. All trains / trams are electric and most busses use bio fuels. All contributing to a challenging taget of all road vehicles being powered by non-fossil fuels by 2030.
It's not just about carbon emmissions. It is about preserving and maintaining cultural heritage. This 3 cities + 2 tour gives a cultural tour of the diverse nature of these 3 great cities. Our Trusted Partner's Responsible and Sustainable Travel PolicySustainable Travel in SwedenWe are committed to responsible & sustainable travel across Sweden & Lapland. Our actions will always impact on the sensitive environment around us and it is our collective responsibility to ensure these intrusions are kept to a minimum. With a population of just 9 million in Western Europe's third biggest country, Sweden has a large and diverse environment to protect. 53% of the surface area is forest, 11% is mountainous, 8% is cultivated land and 9% is lakes & rivers. Exploring the wonderful wilderness of Sweden has led to an increase in tourism to Sweden in recent years. Caring for the environment is almost second nature to Swedes. They are taught about environmental respect and conservation from an early age. Recycling is always high on the agenda. Sweden aims to reduce carbon emissions by 40% by 2020 and all vehicles will be powered by non-fossil energy sources by 2030. It is not just about carbon emissions and the environment. It is about appreciating, understanding and preserving cultural heritage. Sweden is approx. 2000km long and has a deep heritage and many proud traditions. from Skåne in the south to Lapland in the north you will find traditional arts & crafts (eg The Darlana Horse), the indigenous Sami of Lapland and of course mid summer celebrations in June. As a guest in Sweden we encourage you to help exceed these ambitious and realistic targets by: - Using public transport instead of a car where possible. We have teamed up with Europcar who are phasing out their fossil fuel cars and replacing them with bio-fuel cars. - Use less energy and where possible use renewable energy resources such as solar and wind energy. - Recycle as much as possible. Local refuse points have clearly marked containers for materials such as glass, plastic, metal, paper etc. - Use local resources eg., reduce 'food miles', use local suppliers for activities & excursions. They will also provide a more genuine experience that a large corporate entity. Not only is this good for the environment it helps boost the local economy. - Protect the environment and bio diversity. In Sweden you are never far from the wilderness, forest or a lake. Enjoy the countryside - it is the reason you have travelled to Sweden! Leave no trace and admire the timid native wildlife from a distance and everything will still be there for the next person to appreciate the true beauty of nature. - Small scale and genuine activities and cultural excursions are in abundance across Sweden. Each city, town and village has an interesting history and several annual gatherings. These are of huge importance to the local residents and we encourage you to take some time to appreciate the warm Swedish hospitality. - Take an extra step. Don't just stop here as we haven't thought of everything! - We appreciate it is not always possible or practical to do everything on this list, but it is important where possible that we make a contribution, no matter how small. We must continue to strive towards a future for the next generation. Rights of access - a part of Swedish life! You may walk, cycle, horse ride, ski, and stay temporarily in country areas providing you do not damage crops, forestation areas or other sensitive areas of land. You must respect the privacy of the home by not passing through or staying on private plots of land. Do not disturb and do not destroy, is the main principle of the Swedish Right of Public Access. You are allowed to camp for one night on land not used for agriculture that is located away from the dwelling-house. Ask the landowner for permission if you want to camp as a group. You may light a fire providing it is safe to do so, however, never on bare rocks as this might cause permanent damage due to cracking. When the lighting of fires is prohibited, this applies to all open fires, and is often the case in National parks and conservation areas. You may pick flowers, berries and mushrooms in the countryside, but certain plants, such as all orchids, are protected species and special regulations prescribed by law may apply to what you are allowed to pick in the countryside. Be sure not to leave any litter. Leave no trace. This policy was last reviewed in April 2009. About our Trusted Partner
