Hvar - one of the most beautiful islands in Croatia, attractive bay Stiniva, spacious jetty for learning mooring and manoeuvring with the boat, quiet beach for spending free moments, are just some of the arguments why to choose Hvar Adventure sailing school.
The elementary sailing course programme consists of the essential knowledge and skills you can acquire on sailing. During the course the theoretical skills of the sailing essentials, the sail aerodynamics, navigation skills, manoeuvring with engine and sails, safety on the sea, etc. are acquired.
Full immersion beginners class is something more than just learning the technique of sailing. You would live by the sea and with the sea… Besides sailing we will tech you about “living on the sea”, fishing, cooking traditional meals, all in enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere.
NOTES: The sailing school in accordance with its levels, prepares its course attendants both theoreticaly and practicaly for undergoing for examinations for the purpose of obtaining the SKIPPER licence. As required, it arranges the examinations in the Port Authority in Split.
In 1997 it has been chosen by the „Traveller Magazine“ as one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world.
Hvar is also known as the "Madeira of the Adriatic“. In average you may enjoy 2.715 hours of sunshine a year, what makes Hvar sunnyest island on the Adriatic coast. During winter, Hvar has an average temperature of 9°C while in summer average temperature is 25°C.
Hvar is the second biggest Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea and the longest one. The eastern promontory of Hvar is only 4.5 km away from the mainland, while the western one faces the open sea. It is 67,5 km long and a maximum of 10,5 km in width. Higest peak is St.Nicola which is 626 m high...
There are 11,459 inhabitants on Hvar. Innumerable lavender fields, olive plantations and wineyards cover it. The islanders make their living mostly of tourism, viticulture, olive growing and above all, growing of rosemary and lavander, and fishing...
Riki, born in 1976 in Italy, graduated on Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb, but never liked office work since in his heart he is sailor.
Skipper, Yacht-master and sailing instructor with more than 10 years of everyday sailing experience. Now he is sailing school instructor and daily sailing skipper.

Day 1
• Meeting in Hvar in the Hvar Adventure travel agency, Obala bb, Hvar • Getting to know other participants and instructors • Going to Stiniva and getting accommodation there • Introductory lecture, handing out manuals • Going to the sea, familiarizing with the elementary terminology • Dinner
Day 2
• Theory – bases of sailing, directions in relation to wind – knot practicing • Snack before going to the sea • Going to the sea, sailing directions – sailing in side wind and into the wind • Folding of sails and putting sailing equipment in order • Dinner
Day 3
• Theory – bases of sailing, directions in relation to wind – knot practicing • Snack before going to the sea • Going to the sea, sailing directions – exercising on the sea • Folding of sails and putting sailing equipment in order • Dinner
Day 4
• Theory – sail boat manoeuvering • Snack before going to the sea • Going to the sea, practicing in marina, mooring + rescue from the water • Folding of sails and putting sailing equipment in order • Dinner
Day 5
• Theory – bases of navigation and meteorology • Going to the sea, navigational sailing to the island of Vis • Night in Vis or Komiža (or some other optional destination)
Day 6
• Sailing. Return to Stiniva • Farewell dinner and diploma presentation

Our guides emphasize on the importance of leaving the environment as it is. We observe nature but we do not disturb it. We choose our activities because of the minimum impact they have on the nature. While sailing we use only power of the wind, for kayaking and walking we use our body and muscles – our strength.We do not cause any form of air or water pollution and we try not to produce noise that could be disturbing for marine life
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY We inform the clients about political and social situation in destination (Croatia). We closely cooperate with local cultural institutions and we point our visitors towards local cultural festivals and similar manifestations. We suggest to our travellers visits to historically, culturally and environmentally important sights on the island and in Croatia in genral. We organize festivals of outdoors, in order to promote the adventures and environmental awareness, both to local community and to travellers.
