After the Taj it is the most frequently visited monument in India. Khajuraho is a unique example of indo-aryan architecture. The Chandela rulers between 950-1050 built these temples. There were 85 temples, which were built, and only 22 of them survive today. Unlike other temples Khajuraho temples are said to have a theme (women), which comes in front while going through the temples. A celebration of woman kind, her myriad moods and facets. There are carvings of a woman writing letter, applying makeup to her eyes, combing her tresses, dancing, and playing with her child. Innocent, coquettish, smiling, seductive, passionate and beautiful, all depicted in intricate detail, sharply etched, sculpted with consummate skill. One opinion says Chandelas were followers of the tantric cult, which believes that gratification of earthly desires is a step towards attaining the infinite liberation, nirvana. For many centuries these temples were concealed in the dense jungles to be discovered by captain T.S. Burt in 1838.

Our Trusted Partner's Responsible and Sustainable Travel Policy

We are committed to responsible travel and true sustainability. a commitment formed when the company was established, and today, in the face of a multitude of threats to the environment, our commitment is stronger than ever. This vision can only be achieved with the support of all of our travellers and business partners:

- True sustainability in all aspects of our business planning and operations. Specifically operations should be managed in a way where the natural and cultural values of the host region are undiminished in the long-term.

- Where possible, we engage in partnerships with local environmental groups and/or land managers to actively campaign for conservation or promote environmental protection and/or rehabilitation.

Our Responsible and Sustainable Travel Policy

- We have developed unique relationships with many people, some of whom help us with our tours, others that simply live in the different regions to which we travel and through. Through our form of interactive, socially conscious tourism we have helped them adapt to the modern, changing world by providing an important additional income.

- All tours employ the services of local guides.  The good thing about this kind of interactive tourism is that everyone gains – the locals financially, and our clients with the unique experience and social interaction.

- When you take one of our trips, we will make a contribution to locals at no extra costs to yourself. We promote environmentally friendly tours and accommodation in India.

- We promote travel that respects culture and traditions and recognizes the rights of all peoples to be involved in decisions that affect their lives and to determine their future.

- We Have a  policy covering their environmental impact, employment and cultural policy , Identify the key environmental issues facing them and how to deal with them.

- Limit the size of our groups to minimize impact and maximize interaction with the local community.

- Employ business practices where monies spent by travelers remain in, or revert to, the local community. In tailor-made itineraries or in group tours , we continue to actively recommend restaurants, shops and other local businesses so that the community is directly benefited. Most of these include craft shops that ensure tourist money is fed back to the local craftsmen that produce the crafts.

- Work with local charities or conservation projects, or initiate projects of their own that “give back” to the community. We donates small amount to protect the wildlife. Engage guests to reduce and use wisely both energy and products while enjoying their visit.

- Introduce all clients to various charities in their travel area as so many ask how they can help.

- Client are encouraged to learn about the cultures and places they are visiting before they go .If they take an interest  & speak a few words of the local language the trip will be wonderful. Discover where the locals eat, where they go on their days off and whether there are any local festivals or events taking place during your visit.

- Discourage clients not to buy products made from endangered species, Ivory , shells from beach traders or ancient artefacts.

- Share your culture freely with the locals without imposeing it, and don't assume that people who do things differently are inferior - they're just different!

- We encourage the clients ,If possible, support organisations working for the preservation and conservation of natural and cultural resources and the rights of workers in tourism fields.

- We minimise our electricity consumption by switching off lights, computers, fans etc in rooms that are not in use and at night. We have also shifted to CFLs

- We encourage double-side photocopying and, where appropriate, circulate documents by email.
