Day in the Life on Safari
A Typical Day on a Luxury Safari
Awake to a soft knock on your door and the smell of your freshly brewed coffee awaiting you outside your tent or chalet. Listen to the quiet morning sounds of Africa. Enjoy your coffee and a few biscuits to tide you over for your early morning game drive.
This morning you will enjoy a 3 hour game drive through the bush with your expert guide to find the wildlife. On your drive, you see giraffe, rhino, zebra, impala, gemsbock, warthog and elephants.
When you return from your drive, a large “English” breakfast will be waiting for you. Eat in the open air dining area and use your newly trained eyes to spot more wildlife, while you dine on perfectly cooked eggs, sausages, bacon, fruits, breads, more coffee, and other splurges. Retire to your private tent or chalet to relax and finally read that book on your beautiful deck.
It’s 3 o’clock and time for High Tea. Lots more splurges here as your tummy surprisingly feels empty again. Gather up your cameras for your evening game drive. Time for elephant, leopard and wild dog. During your drive, your guide will stop to offer snacks and drinks while you watch the sunset over the African bush. Capture the African sunset on film because it will bring tears to your eyes long after your journey.
It will be dark when you return from your evening game drive. You will have time to freshen up for dinner. I hope you are hungry. The chef has prepared some “wild” options as well as some traditional ones too. Fine South African wines will be paired expertly with your dinner choices. The staff will anonymously turn down your bed so that it is oh, so inviting when you return from dinner. Sleep tonight as you never have, with dreams of the peaceful and serene African bush.
