Founded in 1999, Pousada Vila Kalango opened its doors to a new concept of hospitality bringing together charm, simplicity, comfort and rusticity.
Located in a 5.000 meters garden among coconut trees and cashew trees, in front of the sea, the Inn was constructed with all the sustainability and environmental concern that the region deserves.
Whoever has been to Jericoacoara, will never forget it. Having an exotic beauty and hard to describe landscape, the region is surrounded by dunes, virgin beaches, and real natural sculptures. Vila Kalango is the ideal place for those who want to enjoy the best of life and discover untouchable places of the world. Here you will find the best wind peaks, and will be blessed by an Inn that joins comfort and sophistication with a touch of rusticity and harmony.
It offers 24 comfortable accommodations simply astonishing. They are divided in apartments, palafittes and bungalows all of them conceived with local materials, showing the high level of production and local handicrafts. The decoration reflects a marvelous combination of straw, red bricks of clay and beams. Joining comfort and rusticity, Vila Kalango´s accommodations were built with typical materials from the region and decorated with items manufactured by local residents, which brings a special and cultural touch to the place that shelters our guests.

Barely explored and very well preserved, Jeri is paradisiacal and ravishing. Surrounded by an untouched beauty, Preá beach is located only 12 km away from the Vila de Jericoacara (CE), gives out beauty and charm. Located 300 km away from Fortaleza, Jeri, as it is known, is considered an ecological sanctuary. In 1984, it became an area of environmental protection and practically untouchable. In 2002 it became a National Park. Nowadays, it is one of the most important postcards of Ceará.
Pedra Furada is one of the most visited places in the region and also the ride to Duna do Pôr-do-Sol (sunset dune), one of the highest and most charming of Ceará; it provides amazing images - a unique spectacle. The ones who like sports such as Windsurf, Kitesurf, Sandboard and buggy rides by the dunes, can count on the geographical characteristics of Jeri that provides suitable structure for learning such sports for fun and also for international or national championships.
TRANSFER
We offer our private transfer service either through the road or by Ceara’s beaches. We can take and pick up our guests in Fortaleza or Jericoacoara at a pre-scheduled time, place and day.*On the road: from 4 to 5 hours. *By the Beaches: from 9 to 10 hours. Dining
Our restaurant has menus prepared by a well known brazilian chef, Paulinho Martins, which developed special dishes made with fresh ingredients from the region.
From the breakfast till dinner, you will taste unique flavors and aromas, that you will only find here, specially when you have a beautiful view from the sunset dune and the sea.

To start the day in a good way, we prepared a balanced and home-made breakfast for you. Our breaksfast is served at our restaurant from 08:00am till 10:30am and you will taste fresh fruits, natural juices, home-made breads and cakes besides delicious tapiocas, crepes and pancakes made at your request.

Bar and Swimming Pool
To accompany a delicious swimming pool bath, we have a special menu with appetizers, light sandwiches, hot sandwiches, salads, açaí and unique drinks and juices.

Restaurant
Our restaurant is strategically located, and while the meals are served, it is possible to appreciate the sea and Sunset dune’s beauty, an amazing view to start or finish the day. Specialized in regional food, our restaurant has the best view of Jeri. Here you will find a healthy and varied menu with dishes prepared with fish, shrimps and lobsters, all fresh from the sea. A candle light dinner with the dune view or at the swimming pool looking at the sea, makes each moment especial and unique.
You can’t miss: fresh grilled fish with shrimps.
For your appetite satisfaction you will find a bar and a restaurant, where home made cakes and fruits are served, as well as a delicious breakfast and excellent Brazilian dishes.
We also offer a delicious and exclusive picnic on top of a dune, which highlights even more the nature’s spectacle. Besides that, romantic dinners by the sea, dinner with bonfire, horse and buggy rides across the Vila, native fishing are also part of the Inn’s attractions.

Accommdation Facilities
All our accommodations are equipped by fans, frigobar, mosquito net, and wireless internet connection. In the apartments (standard and comfort) and some bungalows, there is also air-conditioning and shower with solar heating. And so you can enjoy simple moments, like reading a good book or falling asleep with the pleasant sea sound. There are no TV sets or telephone in our rooms.Enjoy each moment!

Wind & Kite
Jericoacoara is known as one of the best spots for windsurf and kitesurfing of the world, due it’s wind and temperature conditions - A paradise for kiters and windsurfers.
The wind blows during almost the whole year, but the best season is between July and January, when the wind speed gets from 18 to 35 knots, everyday, non stop. The direction is side-off-shore and the water temperature is very pleasant, making the rashgards clothes unnecessary.
After November on, the waves season begins and only ends on March of the following year. The waves can go till 2 meters high and on swell days, the wave riders can stay all day long on the water, just having fun!

Vila Kalango has 07 ( seven ) stilt houses, all with 28 mts2 size, built with moracatiara wood suspended by eucalyptus columns 3 meters high from the ground. This way, you can have a beautiful 180º view from them.
All are equipped with fan on the ceiling, mini bar, king size bed, mosquito net and balcony with hammocks.
They are divided in three locations around the pousada: dune view ( stilt houses 12, 13 and 14 ), sea view ( stilt houses 15, 17 and 18 ) and stilt house on the ground ( stilt house 16 - the only on the ground floor ) and all have capacity for 02 ( two ) persons.and 14), view to the sea (palafittes 15, 17 and 18), and low palafitte (palafitte 16- the only one on the ground floor)

Vila Kalango has 02 ( two ) comfort stilt houses, both with 45mts2, built with moracatiara wood suspended by eucalyptus columns, 3 meters from the ground.
They all have fan in the ceiling, mini bar, king size bed, mosquito net and balcony with hammocks. One has sea view and the other, dune view and have capacity for 04 ( four ) persons.
Children under six do not pay; Two kids up to six years old, will be charged the amount of a daily rate;Children older than 6 will be considered as an adult.

We know that being faithful to our values, working in a sustainable way and suggesting the same attitude to our clients, personnel and suppliers, we will be responsible for contributing everyday for a better world.All the Inn’s staff is local residents, people who know all about the space where they find themselves and they are perfect to pass on that culture and philosophy to the guests and tourists. Besides that, we still have our handicraft production made by the local people that use typical material from the region enriching the product and showing the local culture.
Aiming at the life quality of our guests, we plant most of the vegetables used in our menus and never use agrotoxic products. At the Rancho do Peixe, the trash turns into luxury! We do a recycling work, where it is possible to manufacture stationery that in turn can be used to make menus, books, and cards.
We carry out awareness campaigns with our guests and personnel so that they learn how to use water and energy conscientiously. We have, in some accommodations, solar panels. Our amenities are ecologically correct. To maintain the local natural beauty, our personnel take action in collective work during the year, maintaining the city clean and contributing with the awareness campaigns along with people from the area, always looking to preserve the environment.
This way, the posada’s comfort and charm are maintained, with exclusive services, preserving nature’s beauty and charming our guests, who enjoy indescribable moments. The accommodations were built mainly with wood and reforestation straw. During the night the illumination is very low, so that the local wild life can follow its natural course, contributing with the Inn’s environment. The fauna, flora, and animals are preserved; the trees and typical plants are maintained intact.
