Overview
Much of the land is untouched with a variety of native forest and fruit trees and with a river that runs through the heart of it. Beach access is along a beautiful flower-lined 100 meter long path that guarantees absolute privacy. One of the most striking features of the property is the wooden decked bridge over the river with a pavilion in the middle that is used for sundowners and candle-lit dinners.
The beach in front of the house is very private and seldom visited by anyone who is not a guest in the property and the sea is crystal clear and great for swimming as it is sheltered by a nearby reef. It’s a great place for children and for groups of friends who are attracted by the secluded location, harmony with nature while enjoying enormously comfortable accommodation, great service and the proximity to the bars, restaurants and boutiques of Trancoso just 10 minutes away on a private road.
Best months are from November to May. The rainy season usually runs from May until September. The busiest months when there is most going on are December (from Christmas on), January and February. While the buzz is great fun, many people prefer to visit outside of this period.
Note: Trancoso is the most fashionable destination in Brazil at New Year and this is reflected in the shortage and price of good accommodation at this time. Please book well in advance.
Trancoso, Bahia in the Brazilian North-east is the hippest beach destination in South America. The village is set on a bluff overlooking perfect palm-fringed beaches and colourful former slave houses cluster around a large grassy main square known as the Quadrado. In the evening everyone heads to the Quadrado to sip caipirinhas and browse in the antique shops, boutiques and local stalls which include many of the chicest Brazilian designers.
The atmosphere is relaxed - the very antithesis of Europe’s glitziest resorts – and flip-flops, open shirts and kaftans are the order of the day and this laid-back vibe is attracting many of the biggest stars of modern Brazil and further a-field who value their privacy as much as their need to kick back and have fun.
The closest airport is at Porto Seguro, 80km from Trancoso. The drive to Trancoso takes about an hour. Helicopter transfers can be arranged at reasonable rates for those in a hurry. Alternatively there is an excellent private landing strip at Terravista, just 10 minutes away from the village.

The 6 double rooms are split between three stand-alone cabanas which each houses two bedrooms given ample accommodation for up to twelve guests with communal areas in a separate thatched structure by the side of the 18 meter long swimming pool.
Six suites housed in 3 stand-alone cabanas (4 doubles, 2 twin). There is a separate pavilion with large dining area, kitchen, inside and out sitting areas with views down to the sea by the side of the pool.
