Overview
Every day a number of things need to be done to keep the farm up and running. Part of the year, its small and motivated staff welcomes guests ("Can Marti" is closed from mid-October to end of March).
All our units have views over an unspoilt landscape and have been decorated individually with a lot of care for the details. Because of the heavy stonewalls we have renounced to install energy wasting air conditioning. Every apartment has a little kitchen (with fridge and gas stove), bathroom with shower, central heating (wood-burning stove in the Olivo), fan, futon-beds, radio/CD player, ADSL-internet connection (except Olivo) and direct garden access.
The rooms have been restored under ecological criteria, the walls have clay plaster and are painted with natural pigments and the wood has been treated with organic oil.
The distance to reach Can Marti is 27 km from the airport and 20 km from Ibiza town. By car you can find us on the road to Sant Joan/Portinatx . A few meters after the turn-off to Portinatx, continuing towards Sant Joan you will see a yellow sign “Can Marti Agroturismo”. From there a 900 m dirt road leads you to our farm.
On weekdays there is a bus service from Ibiza town to Sant Joan at 12:15 and 19:00 p.m. (Saturday only 12:15 p.m.). If you come by bus we will collect you at the village.

Although there is no common room for guests, there are 16 hectares of open space to enjoy.
Activities
"Can Marti" is also a human adventure, far from hordes of tourists! The estate is run at a pace determined by its owners. There you will find, among other things, a variety of crops over gentle sloping terraces supported by stone walls, proudly displaying the lines of almond, carub and olive trees.

Ibiza's clubs will be pulling in the crowds again this summer, but you don't have to party your head off in a packed resort. Can Marti is a working organic farm in tranquil wooded valley in the north of the island where the loudest noise is likely to come from a donkey's bray or the clanking of cattle bells and you can explore the wilder parts of the island away from the crowds and throbbing beats.
There are three self-catering apartments in an old, lime-washed stone farmhouse and a separate stone cottage overlooking sloping terraces of almond, fig and olive trees. Solar panels supply all the electricity and waste water is re-used through filtering reed-beds. Breakfast is organic, with home-made breads, jams and fruit juice. Bikes are provided free of charge so you can cycle on signposted trails into the island's interior or to nearby sandy beaches.

By focusing on ecology and traditional architecture, the Brantschens have created a gracious abode that is in harmony with the environment, welcoming visitors with a generous and open spirit. This reflects their philosophy for sustainable living, which in turn influenced their decision to use solar energy, recycle wastewater and collect rainwater. After twenty-seven years, in which only sheep witnessed the turning of the seasons, terraces were cleared out, trees pruned and old stone walls repaired. The "Mandala", a garden for the senses, was designed, followed by the organic kitchen plot, filled with an abundance of delights. Fruit trees and other types of vegetation were then planted not only to embellish the natural surroundings, but to provide delicious fruit and vegetables for the Brantschens and their guests. The arrival of the donkey Titane and her calf Sidi brought a truly rural feel to Can Marti. Today hens, cockerels, ducks and geese all share in the happiness of this haven. Can Marti stands as an ardent proponent of the protection of nature and recently as a refuge for wild animals, as hunting is forbidden there.
