Overview
Soneva Fushi is a little off the beaten track, the adventure begins with a thirty-minute seaplane journey from Male'.
Just sixty-five residences on an island surrounded by a coral lagoon. A community offering ‘Intelligent Luxury’ in which guests can do a host of activities, or nothing at all. Furnishings that reflect the rustic theme of a designer tropical escape. Dining diversities that range from simple barbecues to gourmet feasts - and an amazing wine cellar. Ramble through nature with discovery excursions on the resort island and neighboring island villages. And all the while, soft white sand underfoot. Then there is the wonderful Six Senses Spa, offering a menu of rejuvenating, pampering and holistic wellness treatments to calm mind and body.

Soneva Fushi, the first "Robinson Crusoe" style hideaway in the Maldives, is set on the privately owned, uninhibited, tropical paradise island of Kunfunadhoo. Soneva Fushi is situated in the Baa Atoll, north of Male' Atoll. There are 19 atolls that stretch over 800 kilometres made up of the 1,190 islands which are the Maldives.
The island is accessible by a scenic 25 minute float plane flight from Male', the capital of the Republic of Maldives.
Kunfunadhoo is 1,400 metres long and almost 400 metres wide, is one of the largest islands in the Maldives. Apart from the crystal clear waters, for which the Maldives is world-renowned, the island's unusually rich vegetation provides a unique natural experience. Villas and rooms are scattered along the beach and tucked into the lush greenery, providing the ultimate in privacy.
Dining
Dining options at Soneva Fushi are designed to make your stay on Kunfunadhoo diverse, exciting and slightly adventurous. Our Chef and his multi-national brigade of chef's work to produce a combination of dishes that allow the East to meet the West in culinary terms.
Every effort is made to find ingredients of the highest quality and have them delivered to the island and send as pure and fresh as they might have been served at their origin. With this philosophy in mind our menus benefit from the abundance of fresh fish at the Maldives.
To compliment the dining options, we offer a wine list with an international content that covers many recognised and some unrecognised, wine producing countries in both hemispheres. This mixture of new world wines and good French classics offers you the opportunity to fulfill the dining experience despite both cultural and climate challenges.

Me Dhuniye Restaurant Lunch Choose from our Fusion Cuisine Snacks menu or the Asian Noodle Soup Buffet Station. Dinner New world Asian cuisine at its best. Perfect blends of eastern and western food are presented with a permanent a la carte menu. There is a daily changing 5-course Degustation menu available.
Mihiree Mitha Lunch Through experience we have developed an idea of a light lunch of extremely high standard, which is served by the beach in front of the main bar. This makes full use of a sea breeze and the magnificent sea view.
The style is "self-service" to enhance the relaxed nature of this meal experience, giving guests the opportunity to set their own pace and try a little of everything. The concept is an international deli experience with a variety of Pizzas, sashimi, sushi, salads, pasta and barbeque cooked to order and Ice cream parlor.
Organic Garden Restaurant This dining experience sits four metres, or more than thirteen feet, above the organic garden and affords views across the jungle canopy, from every angle. Arrival is through the garden, interspersed with vegetable patches, plus herbs and spice plots. A stairway leads up to a suspended rope and plank bridge, across which guests access the vast timber construction, which is the restaurant.
The main restaurant platform measures 200 square metres, or more than 2,000 square feet, plus an 85 square metre, or 900 square feet, terrace. In the centre of the main platform is a sunken kitchen and dispense bar, completely open to the restaurant on all four sides.
The menu changes daily, and features the freshest produce imaginable, with a focus on fruit, vegetables and fish, plus some organic meats. A desert menu is enhanced with a selection of Soneva's own home made ice creams and sorbets. The wine list features a selection of wines, which are also available by the glass.
Jetty Champagne Bar The Champagne Bar is an all day choice for guests desiring easy access to the underwater world of Soneva Fushi, with its myriad of colourful lagoon inhabitants. Underwater enthusiasts can hone their scuba diving prowess without committing to the big dive, while snorkeling is equally rewarding. Lazing away some idyll moments on a sun lounge beneath large umbrellas may also be the pastime of choice. It is an ideal place from which to enjoy glorious sunsets whilst planning for your dining experience for the evening. A simple menu and wonderfully refreshing tropical juice drinks, together with the bar host's specialties are available throughout the day. Champagne is suggested at sunset.
The Wine Cellar Soneva Fushi boasts a high quality climate controlled wine cellar with a selection of the best - not commercially available - wines from around the world. Guests may either order at the cellar or from our wine list and have the wine of their choice delivered to a restaurant or their villa in time to enjoy with their meal. Wine tasting are available on request with a minimal of 4 guests at 1800 hours.
Private Cinema with Barbecue Dinner Cinema Paradiso is a fun place to have a private barbecue while watching a classic movie from the golden years of Hollywood. With your personal chef preparing prime cuts of meat with all the trimmings, accompanied with a favorite vintage - and served beneath a star-studded sky by your very own waiter - this is the ultimate movie-going experience.
Villa or Sandbank Barbecue For the more adventurous among you, a "Villa BBQ", or a "Sandbank BBQ" brings a lot of fun into dining under the stars in the privacy of your beach garden or the sandbank, with your own personal chef and waiter combined with nature and tradition, amounts to a luxurious dining experience. The "Villa BBQ" experience can be arranged through guest relations. A minimum of twenty-four hours (24 hours) notice is required. The Villa or Sandbank BBQ experience is subject to availability and if you would like to discuss the menu with our chef, please feel free to contact room service or guest relations who would be happy to arrange it for you.
Desert Island Picnic If you think you have found peace and transquility on Soneva Fushi, then brace yourself for the ultimate Robinson Crusoe experience. The bounds of civilization no longer exist; your picnic island is your opportunity to experience nature in its raw form. Our boat will deliver you to one of our picnic islands, unload your picnic and leave... (Although we will pick you up later if you insist) • The "Desert Island Picnic" experience can be arranged through your guest relations officer or through room service. • The picnics are subject to availability and a minimum of 24 hours notice is required. • Picnics are not limited to the Desert Island experience, we also offer picnic options on all-day Diving and Fishing excursions, which can be arranged with the Soleni Dive School.
Sunrise Breakfast To capture nature at its very best, we often have to make a small sacrifice, such as getting up before dawn breaks. The Soneva Fushi Jungle Reserve offers the ultimate in privacy complete with a master bedroom, large living space, massage pavilion and steam room, personal gym, private pool with waterslide and Tree House. The master bedroom has an open water garden and the villa can be opened on all sides to enjoy the breeze - or air-conditioned. A footbridge connects to the Spa Villa that comprises a sitting room, a steam-room and shower as well as massage pavilion. A personal air-conditioned gym is located in an adjacent pavilion. The private pool wraps around the villa in a half-moon free-form shape and finish off the Tree House features a bunk bed and a single bed, a toilet and a slide into the swimming pool.
Room rates are subject to a 2% carbon offset contribution. The contribution is to the Six Senses Carbon OFfset Fund that will be engaged with Converging World to fund a project entitled "Wind Turbine and Community Development Project in India" through the provision of a grant to establiush a wind turbine ona pilot site.
