Gordon Campbell-Gray is chairman of Campbell Gray Hotels which he set up in 2003 to develop a small collection of international luxury hotels, including One Aldwych in London and the Carlisle Bay hotel on the Caribbean island Antigua.
Gordon’s ethical passion for the environment and the individual (a concern that extends to staff as well as guests) has won many awards for investment in people and green initiatives, which range from food sourcing and energy-saving to the use of low-toxicity paints, toiletries and cleaning agents. His philanthropic nature is illustrated in his current roles as vice-president of Save the Children and as chairman of the charity’s Annual Festival of Trees.
Richard Hadfield brings experience of over 20 years of the leisure and travel industry, culminating in his last role as Managing Director of Abercrombie & Kent Ltd and its bespoke luxury travel agency, A&K Private Travel. Richard has a strong financial services and travel industry background having held senior roles at Thomas Cook, Opodo and lastminute.com. His roles within these companies focused on his expertise in ecommerce, marketing and business development.
Melanie Cutcliffe has over twelve years' experience in public relations, focusing extensively in the specialist in the fields of exclusive travel, wellbeing and private residences sectors. Prior to setting up Indigo in 1998, Melanie worked at ZFL PRCo, a London-based public relations agency specialising in international business hotels and luxury resorts. Melanie set up Indigo in order to focus on launch campaigns and targeted projects in the special interest travel, lifestyle and adventure sectors, where both the cultural diversity and character of a property or destination have played a significant role.
Based on solid international experience in five star hotel operations, German born Erika has marketed small exclusive hotels since 1991. Erika has intricate knowledge and understanding of the top-end hospitality business, including cuisine and operational logistics, and is an intuitive business matchmaker and a networker by definition. She founded Grapevine in 1998. From 1991 to 2006 Erika was the exclusive representative and Ambassador for Relais & Châteaux International in the UK.
Hugo combines a wealth of experience in the luxury and specialist travel sector with his expertise in carbon management and reduction. Hugo has a passion for creating positive environmental impact from commercial and individual action and his work in the UK, India and Russia has provided him with an understanding of the challenges faced by the travel industry and wider service sector with regard to sustainability, conservation and reduced environmental impact. Hugo was formerly the Managing Director of Western & Oriental and held senior positions with Cox & Kings and India's leading luxury DMC Banyan Tours, during his 18 years in the industry.
The Carbon Consultancy is emerging as a key player in the carbon management sector and Hugo will be working with Nature and Kind in an advisory role to help its network to create a measurable and tangible reduction in their emissions and place environmental values at the heart of their commercial success. The Carbon Consultancy works very closely with the travel industry and its award winning carbon management tools reflect the company's commitment to innovation and thought leadership.
