India is a country which continues to amaze and enthrall the world as it unfolds its tremendous cultural and natural treasures, be it ancient culture, wildlife customs, rituals or the fact that it has become the IT hub of the world. It is country having more than 100 languages and more than 500 dialects. A country where every 100 km's language, demography, topography and bio-diversity change.
A country which has a rich history of philosophy, religion, war, romance, gallantry and royal extravagant customs. A country which once had the largest number of kingdoms, monuments and dynasties now also has the largest number of wildlife parks.
Today India Footprints caters to the demands of all nature lovers in Indian wildlife and nature. Nature invites you from every corner of India. But that may not be the only reason for visiting India.
Long years ago, a boy of 12 years was visiting the farms, the jungles and the country side and watched the trees getting slaughtered, wildlife being hunted, poached and decided not be a meek spectator to this.

Today India Footprints caters to nature lovers all over the globe to their interests in Indian Wildlife and Nature.

Nature & Kind Factor

Economic responsibility
Regarding economic responsibility our emphasis is based on honesty and transparency with the result the clients would receive total satisfaction because our sole motto is good value for money. Our Economic responsibility is defined by good value for client’s money, integrity towards their gratification, financial intelligibility, high percentage holiday revenue retention. A great emphasis is put during planning a tour when selecting a property so that the clients would receive the utmost satisfaction.

India Footprints support local income generation and small business enterprises by supporting locally owned shops (carpets, jewellery, souvernirs, paintings) and restaurants, and using local guide services and transport. Please note that we do not take any commission from the shops.

Giving preference for direct employment to local people. We employ 12 in our office. Providing in-house training where reasonably practicable to give more opportunity for employment to local people. We have our own naturalist & guides who are stationed in lodges to get first hand knowledge of the Indian wildlife, flora & fauna of the area. Our General Manager went three times to UK (2000, 2003 & 2007) to attend the British Bird watching fair in Rutland. It was for the first time we were invited in the year 2000 to speak on Tigers in Rutland

Requesting our suppliers to employ local people wherever possible and make use of local produce, manufacturers and other services (where local standards permit). This is normally applicable to Jungle lodges where we ask all our lodges owners to employ the local tribal people so that it can have the local economic upliftment. We also tell them to use the ash trays, tray mats, paitings made by the local tribal people. (Ash trays are made from the local clay soil, Mats from the local Bamboo, tiger paintings using charcoal.)

Encouraging travellers to spend at local markets and buy local products.

Environmental responsibility
Since we specialize in wildlife & cultural tourism we concentrate on using eco friendly hotels/lodges and since we are blessed with great forest cover our sole aim is to keep the group size as small as possible (max 10-12 guests) so that the impact on a particular destination is minimized & the clients leave fewer footprints & hence not causing the undue stress on Nature.

When we visit any National Park we inform each and every client in advance to wear earthen colors clothes, treat national parks as the learning centers and not a picnic site. Guests are asked not to use any camera flash or try to come very close to animals and to keep noise level at the minimum while talking to each other.

We try to use more and more Heritage hotels who have conserved the old buildings in good shape. More pivotal is that we choose hotels with e.g. non-centralized air conditioners, non carpet rooms, and environmental friendly properties with proper waste management and natural resources. We request all our guest to reduce the water use & prefer using hotels which have shower section instead of a bath tub.

When choosing a jungle lodge:
Lodge should be small
Should have a good forest cover & good birding life
To ensure that the lodge have employed local people
Building shoud blend with the local cultre
Water recharge unit
Recycling the water for garden purpose
Should buy the local produce where & whenever possible

We are trying to make aware all the lodges & hotels to have a proper garbage management system as part of a responsible tourism. Many have installed but still results are not 100%

When we give the first orientation lecture at the time of arrival we request all our clients not to use plastic bags, if at all you have a plastic bag so retain it & refuse taking a new plastic bag while making purchases.

Social responsibility
No one can progress in real sense without being responsible to the social cause and therefore our progress is incomplete without being part of social responsibility.

We understand that the society in and around wildlife should not be underdeveloped for the larger safety of wildlife and therefore we adopt all the methods pertaining to social bridging wherein our is volunteered in to development of education, primary health care, family empowerment.

It is not possible to make your presence every where but we strongly feel that by giving education we can safe the wildlife & can teach the local community that they will survive if the wildlife survives. So a small amount of our profits goes to a school in Kanha every year.

India footprints as part of its earnest CSR has association as patrons of with NGO SWEEAR (www.sweearindia.com) and is helping the cause through direct and indirect bequeath in child education, family empowerment, civic hygiene, medical support etc. We help then in organizing health camps in remote places.

Furthermore through our leaders and literature we also encourage our clients to show kindness to the social sensitivities of the destinations. This is done during the first orientation. As you are aware in India after every 100 K.M. the culture, langauage, caste changes so its necessary to keep the clients well informed about the culture of that particular destination.

Our company’s stand on this particular issue is special emphasis on education and primary health care in and around the National Parks which includes donation of Pencil, pens, books, providing various means to supply hygienic drinking water to school childrens and distributing free medicines from time to time. We take all our clients to these village schools, they can donate directly to the school principal if they wish to

We impart education to the local tribal guides to improve the quality of their services thus also helping the local upliftmnet of the local economy.
