H&T Argentina - Company Overview
H&T is a specialist receptive tour operator focusing on responsibly run, luxury adventure trips throughout Argentina and Chile. H&T has an expert team of guides and suppliers throughout the region but remains a very personalised tour operator - deal with H&T and you will be attended to directly by the Anglo-Argentine owners, who still create all our programs and expeditions.
Nature & Kind Factor
We have a strong commitment to responsible travel. This is evident in the integral partnership we have with OjoVerde, a company that actively works to promote responsible travel in Argentina.
We adhere to the following basic principles of responsible travel: GENERAL We take time to reseach all our destinations, speaking to local environmental groups to make sure we use the right suppliers. We are currently investigating which of the carbon offset schemes offers a genuine, guaranteed benefit to the enviroment and will soon be offsetting our carbon output. We will be donating a percentage of our profits to Patagonia Natural (www.patagonianatural.org) to help protect the flora and fauna of Patagonia. SUPPLIERS We are constantly analysing all stages of our supply chain to develop and implement policies that use local products, local labour and local food. We encourage all our suppliers to adopt responsible practices, and if they cannot comply we will look for alternatives. We always try to use small, locally owned hotels and restaurants to increase the positive impacts for local economies. GUIDED TOURS We travel in small groups to minimise our footprint and increase the chances of being able to use small, locally owned services. We use local guides for all our group trips, helping to ensure that a higher percentage of the income generated by the tourist industry stays in Argentina. We only use horses that are well cared for and that are bred and managed responsibly. OFFICE When possible we work from home, and if we have to travel to the office we do so by bike, by bus or on the subway. All paper and cardboard in the office is recycled, although we are also striving to become a 100% paperless office – we print no emails or brochures, and use scrap paper or the computer for taking notes. When we absolutely have to print, we refill and reuse the ink cartridges. Terms & Conditions of booking with H&T Argentina
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PAYMENT In order to make a booking a deposit is required. The deposit is variable according to the type of services requested and will be confirmed at time of booking. The balance is due 4 weeks from departure. If the booking is less than 4 weeks before departure, the full amount is due on booking. If any balance remains unpaid, travel documentation may not be issued and we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled and apply the cancellation charges as set out below. Payment must be in the currency of the invoice and you will be responsible for any bank charges you incur. Payment for your holiday is by bank transfer only. INSURANCE It is essential that anyone travelling with H&T has a comprehensive insurance policy valid for the period of your trip, and acceptance of your booking is conditional on proof of adequate insurance. We reserve the right to cancel bookings if we feel that the passenger is traveling uninsured. PASSPORTS, VISA'S AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that they are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents before departure. H&T regret that they cannot accept liability if any passenger is refused entry onto any transport or into any country due to failure on their part to carry correct documentation. AMENDMENT AND CANCELLATION 1- AMENDMENT BY CLIENT We will do our best to assist you in altering travel arrangements after booking, but cannot guarantee that this will be possible. You will be responsible for any charges and costs as a result of such amendment and we reserve the right to charge an additional US $50 administration fee plus any applicable charges levied by our suppliers. We reserve the right to treat any major amendment less than 2 weeks prior to the date of departure as a cancellation and apply the cancellation charges set out below. 2 – CANCELLATION BY CLIENT A booking with H&T may be cancelled at any time. The cancellation will take effect from the date that written email notification from the person who made the booking is received at our offices. Any cancellation will incur a charge to reflect the reasonable costs incurred by us in arranging and cancelling the booking. If cancelled more than 4 weeks before departure, this charge is likely to be the amount of the deposit although it could be more. If it is more you will be required to pay us the difference and if it is less we will refund the difference to you. Charges for cancellation after the balance due date will vary due to the complex nature of our travel itineraries. Please ask for the amount of any cancellation charge before cancellation. You should be aware that this charge is likely to increase the closer to departure date that the cancellation is made and may well be up to 100% of the total cost of the booking. AMENDMENT AND CANCELLATION BY H&T 1 – AMENDMENT BY H&T It is occasionally necessary for us to make changes to advertised products and services. In exceptional circumstances we may have to modify the itinerary after booking. If the change is minor we will do our best to notify you in advance but are not obliged to do so and no compensation is payable. If the change is more significant (for example, a change of flight time, change of destination, a change of acommodation), we will notify the passenger as soon as practically possible and offer the choice of (i) accepting alternative arrangements; (ii) arranging an alternative holiday with us; or (iii) cancelling the holiday. 2 – CANCELLATION BY H&T Whilst we hope we will never have to cancel any itinerary, this does very occasionally happen and we reserve the right to do so. We will do our best to offer alternative arrangements of a comparable or better standard together with a price refund if appropriate, or will give a full and prompt refund. FORCE MAJEURE Compensation will not be payable in any cases where an amendment, change or cancellation is due to an unusual or unforeseeable event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control ('Force Majeure'). These include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, riot, civil disturbance or strife, terrorist activity (actual or threatened), industrial disputes, technical or maintenance problems with transport, machinery or equipment, power failure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood, drought, adverse weather conditions, levels of water in rivers, acts of god, closure of airports, changes of schedules or operational decisions of transport providers. TRAVEL DELAYS We cannot accept responsibility for flight delays and do not provide for arrangements for meals, overnight accommodation or any other cost resulting from delay, even if the flight was purchased through H&T. SPECIAL REQUESTS Whilst we will endeavour to comply with any special requests such as airline seating, diets, room requirements, we can only do so on a 'goodwill' basis. As these are usually only provided at the discretion of the relevant supplier, we cannot guarantee availability and cannot be held responsible if they are not provided. EXCURSIONS AND ACTIVITIES We are only responsible for excursions and activities sold by us and which form part of the holiday contract. |
