Ceksa was created in 2005 by Conodros (previous tour operator of Kapawi) and NAE ( Nation of the Achaur of Ecuador), to run the operations of Kapawi after it was turned over 100% ownership of the Achaur people. As of Jan 2008 Ceksa has run Kapawi. Kapawi Eco lodge and Reserve provides much needed income for the whole Achaur nation as an economic alternative to oil extraction and to support the protection of 2 million acres of pristine primary rainforest of the Achaur territory.

Kapawi provides an economic alternative to oil exploitation in the Achaur territory. The company is 100% owned by the Achaur Nation and all profits are put back into the 64 communities which make up the Nation. The Achaur are very clear that they want absolutely no oil exploration in their lands and this project helps to protect and sustain the 2 million acres of pristine primary rainforest of which the Achaur are the natural custodians

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PAYMENTS

Reservations made within 120 days or more prior to the excursion departure date:
· A deposit of 10% must be paid 10 days after date of request to confirm the reservation.
· 50% of excursion, 90 days prior to the excursion departure date.
· Balance of the total payment should be made 60 days prior to the excursion departure date.

Reservations made between 119 and 90 days prior to the excursion departure date:
· A deposit of 10% must be paid immediately to confirm the reservation.
· Balance of the total payment should be made 60 days prior to the excursion departure date.

Reservations made between 89 and 60 days prior to the excursion departure date:
· A deposit of 10% must be paid immediately to confirm the reservation.
· Balance of the total payment should be made 60 days prior to the excursion departure date.

Reservations made between 59 and 0 days prior to the excursion departure date:
· Total payment should be made immediately.

Cancellations and penalties:
· Cancellations made 120 days or more prior to the excursion departure date have no penalties.
· Cancellations made between 119 and 60 days prior to the excursion departure date have a USD $200 per passenger service charge.
· Cancellations made between 59 and 26 days prior to the excursion departure date, 50% of the total excursion rate will be forfeited.
· Cancellations made between 25 and 0 days prior to the excursion departure date, 100% of the total excursion rate will be forfeited.
· Cancellations for medical reasons or due to death of an immediate family member, received 59-30 days prior to the excursion departure date, will have 50 % of reimbursement and will require the presentation of a medical certificate.
· Cancellations for medical reasons or due to death of an immediate family member received between 29-0 days prior to the excursion departure date, 100% of the total excursion rate will be forfeited.

CEKSA. does not accept changes in the excursion reservation date or passenger’s names. In case the group change the excursion reservation, we will consider it as a new reservation. In other words, we will cancel the first reservation and the group will be subject to all the applicable penalties.

NOTE: All reservations of groups have status "RQ" (request) until reception of the required deposit when the reservation(s) will be changed to a "KK" (confirmed) status.

If the travel agent does not send the total payment to our office or our bank account on the date imposed by our office, CEKSA is entitled to cancel the reservation, and will not be held responsible for the cancellation towards the passengers.

As soon as the payment is confirmed, please e-mail us at ventas@kapawi.com and contabilidad@kapawi.com the following information:

• The amount that you paid converted in US Dollars
• Group name, number of persons traveling in your party, date of the excursion and booking code.

IMPORTANT:

Please make sure that all money transfer and bank charges are covered by you and we receive full credit of the total amount requested in US Dollars.

It is important that you let us know when you send us the payment so that we can track that at our end. Let us know your daytime phone number for contacting purpose.
GROUPS OR TOUR LEADER DISCOUNT
The discount for Tour Leader or gratuity for groups will be applied in double occupancy, the discounts apply to the excursion rate only, as follows:
· Groups of 0-8 passengers, the Tour Leader will be granted with 25% discount of the excursion value.
· Groups of 9-14 passengers, the Tour Leader will be granted with 50% discount of the excursion value.
· Groups of 15 or more passengers, the Tour Leader will be granted with 100% discount of the excursion value.
Tour leader occupancy in passengers cabin is subject to the excursion availability, otherwise will be accommodated on Tour leader cabins.

Note: This discount will not be applied for the transportation rate.
